Product discovery and user research are the heart of my UX practice. My curiosity pushes me to ask better questions, my approachable style allows users to feel comfortable and open up, and my structured approach turns findings into decisions.
While I love the 'humanness' that qualitative discovery brings, I'm also energized when practicing quantitative methods. With data, we move faster when making business decisions and there's a cohesive confidence across the team.
A couple of quick work examples where the data and insights discovered from user research provided positive user and business outcomes:
After rounds of qualitative research with top authors at Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), I led a partnership with the Amazon Advertising team, resulting in a $3M increase in author ads spend in Year 1.
Internal 1:1 sessions with AWS Startup Business Development leads confirmed a major pain point for customers, which led to the build and launch of the AWS Startups content library.
A recent research initiative I led at my last startup can be found in this case study: The Lighthouse Group. This project focused on understanding our top-selling accounts and customers. Research methods included competitor research, 3 rounds of 1:1 user interviews, survey build and distribution, analysis of all findings, and presentation to leadership.
